Job Description

Based at one of our 11 Recycling Depots in South Australia, the Recycling Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining the facilities at the depot.

As an integral member of the Scout Recycling Team, the successful candidate will establish and maintain customer relationships and assist Depot Supervisors in maintaining the upkeep of the depot.

This position would suit you if you have experience in customer service and sales, you’re positive and highly professional, and want to make a difference.

In general, you’ll: 

  • Greet and direct customers in an orderly fashion through the depot
  • Assist in unloading vehicles, ensuring staff and customer safety at all times
  • Count redeemable drink containers and accurately calculate the customer’s refund
  • Direct scrap customers to weigh system and assist to have their scrap sorted and weighed accordingly

Scouts SA is a diverse South Australian employer, with commercial operations including retail, recycling depots in both South Australia and Queensland and Adventure Activities in the Adelaide Hills. These commercial businesses help fund Scouting for young people across the state.

  • Good communication skills
  • Great customer service skills
  • Good numeracy skills – ability to count in multiples
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Forklift Drivers Certification (desirable but not required)
