Scout Motorsport Club SA are returning to the quarry for a Come and Try Khanacross event. Track setups generally consists of a combination of slower speed motorkhana style tests, slaloms of various lengths and speeds, and faster gymkhana tests.
These events have been setup as the perfect introduction to motorsport with an opportunity for drivers to come out and learn the skills needed to participate in dirt motorsport events in a non competitive setting. This event also provides an opportunity for more experienced drivers to work on car setup and improve skill and precision as a preparation for other competitive events.
To enter this event drivers will be required to hold a minimum of a Motorsport Australia Speed- Junior license (Available from 12 years of age) and general road cars can participate with a few simple addition of a complying fire extinguisher, racing harness and either unmodified factory ignition system (scrutineers discretion) or a kill switch fitted. All vehicles attending will be required to pass scrutineering on the day and need to be in safe and roadworthy condition and any purpose built cars must comply with the appropriate Motorsport Australia regulations. If you are wanting to participate but don’t have access to an appropriate vehicle then the Scout Motorsport Club may be able to assist as the club has a fleet of Scout owned vehicles that are specifically setup for motorsport. For more information on hiring a car see the Hire a Scout Race Car page.
