A feeling of community amongst the parents is essential to the Group’s continued success. Consequently the Group organises several family events each year for all parents to feel that they are part of a bigger family and can have fun too!
A Scout Group is a collection of volunteers who work together to enrich the life-skills of the youth members through interesting, different, exciting and adventurous activities.
Parents who would like to become leaders can be trained free (paid by the Group).
Leaders costs are covered by the Group. There is no payment for time, but most leaders say that their reward is in seeing the transformation of youth as they become self-assured and responsible future citizens.
Parents with other skills can take on back-room roles, either on the Group Support Committee or some other role like Hall Maintenance, or Gardener, etc.
Some parents can take on a casual or one-time role. Getting involved with the Group the most important to support the quality of your child’s experience.
The most important activity parents can get involved is fundraising, without it the group wouldn’t exist or would have prohibited cost.
PLEASE VOLUNTEER to support the Scout Group in anyway that you can.
Facebook and Instagram are fantastic ways to promote Scouting. Please enjoy their use by posting photos and stories about the great activities you are doing in Scouts.
