Welcome to Mount Gambier Scout Group
Be prepared for Adventure

Welcome to Mount Gambier Scout Group

We run a range of great programs for youth aged between 5 and 15, packed with fun, adventurous, challenging and inclusive activities you can do with your friends!

Scouting offers activities in age-based sections so your child can have fun and adventure with others their own ages.

Mount Gambier Scout Group offers fun-filled programs for the following sections:

Section Age Group Meet
Joey Unit 5 – 8 years Tuesday 5.30pm – 7.00pm
Cub Unit 8 – 11 years Tuesday 6.00pm – 7.30pm
Scout Unit 11 – 15 years Thursday 6.30pm – 8.30pm

By joining the Mount Gambier Scout Group, you are giving your children the opportunity for a fun, educational experience that forms a bridge between what they learn at home and at school. Scouts incorporate challenges that are based on the Outdoors, Community and Creativity as well as personal growth and so much more!

We offer experience and challenge in a safe environment and fulfill a child’s natural urges to learn and explore. It develops skills, self-confidence, respect, resilience and fosters attitudes that will benefit not only your children but the whole community.

The Group is managed by skilled and trained Leaders who deliver great Scouting programs to the Sections, and we are always looking for more volunteers to share the load and join the team!

Of course, nothing beats face-to-face discussion so please feel free to come and talk to one of the Leaders in the Group about any questions you might have. Our aim is to make you and your family as welcome as possible.

If you have any questions or are interested in giving Scouting a try, please see Come and Try.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

What section of Scouts is for my Child?

Thinking of joining Scouts but don’t know what section is the one for your child?
All the sections of Scouting are broken up into age groups so that your child can experience the appropriate level of challenge and adventure. For example, the Cub Scouts might race wooden Cub Cars in a derby challenge but the Rover Scout section can build and race their own cars!
