Scouting is about helping young people be the best they can be, developing all facets of life so they can grow to become constructive citizens. Fun, challenge, adventure and lifelong friendships await young people and adults who join Scouts.

Learning life skills, building resilience, growing in self-confidence and gaining valuable leadership and team skills are all part of the program. Scouts SA provides fun youth development activities, building resilient and confident young people aged five to 25.

Members can progress through the five Scouting sections – Joeys Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rovers, or they can start in any section depending on age. Scouts SA has 120 locations around the State and for those in isolated and remote regions, the Lone Scouts Group meets via the internet and corresponds in many different ways.

The Scouting program and activities are delivered by nationally accredited trained leaders in safe, but still adventurous environments. As well as the benefits for youth, Scouting offers individuals the opportunity to become pillars and leaders of the community.

Scouts SA welcomes adult volunteer Scout Leaders, it offers free training in leadership (nationally recognised training) as well as training in adventurous activities such as scuba diving and rock climbing. Scouts has opportunities for the whole family to be involved.

Everyone is welcome, and the diversity of members is valued.
