Charter

This Board Charter sets out the main principles adopted by Scouts Australia (SA Branch) and the Board to develop, implement and maintain a culture and standard of good corporate governance for both the Scouting Community and other stakeholders including Government Agencies.

The Board is committed to ensuring that principles of good governance are implemented openly and with integrity, pursuing the true spirit of good corporate governance, commensurate with Branch’s needs.
This Charter provides the overarching governance direction for the Board. This Charter also conforms with legislative requirements and Scouts Australia Policy and Rules.

Scouts Australia (SA Branch) (“the Branch”) is a not-for-profit Incorporated Association in South Australia, under the Associations Incorporation Act 1985 (SA). The Incorporation number is A734.

Constitution

The Scout Association of Australia, South Australian Branch Incorporated operates as a voluntary, non-political educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by the Founder, Lord Baden-Powell.
Our mission is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.
Our purpose is to contribute to the education of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
