Welcome to 2nd Adelaide Scout Group – Where Adventure Begins!
Welcome to the 2nd Adelaide Scout Group.
The 2nd Adelaide Scout Group has been a proud part of the scouting movement since 1909, just two years after Robert Baden-Powell (BP), the founder of the Scout movement, published “Scouting for Boys.” Over the years, we have had various homes and are now based at 1 Maitland St, Mitcham, SA 5062.
We offer exciting programs for youth aged 5 to 26, filled with fun, adventurous, challenging, and inclusive activities that you can enjoy with friends! Scouting provides age-based sections so your child can have fun and adventure with others their age.
Our programs include:
- Fun-Filled Programs: Activities tailored to each section’s age group.
- Educational Experience: Scouts bridge the gap between home and school learning, focusing on the Outdoors, Community, Creativity, personal growth, and more.
- Safe Environment: We provide a secure space for kids to learn, explore, and develop skills, self-confidence, respect, resilience, and attitudes that benefit the entire community.
Our Group is managed by trained volunteers who deliver fantastic Scouting programs, and we are always looking for more volunteers to join our team!
We would love to hear from you! There’s nothing better than a face-to-face discussion, so please feel free to drop by for a chat with one of our Leaders. Learn about our program, which is packed with life-enriching skills and events for both youth and the entire family.
What section of Scouts is for my Child?
Thinking of joining Scouts but don’t know what section is the one for your child?
All the sections of Scouting are broken up into age groups so that your child can experience the appropriate level of challenge and adventure. For example, the Cub Scouts might race wooden Cub Cars in a derby challenge but the Rover Scout section can build and race their own cars!

When do Adelaide 2nd Scout Group sections meet?
