Sunshine and Scouting – A Garden Party Celebration
April 1, 2026The Chief Commissioner’s Garden Party, held at Woodhouse, was a special afternoon dedicated to recognising the incredible volunteers and Scouting members who go above and beyond to ensure Scouting continues thrive. Relaunched as a new initiative, the event aims to create meaningful opportunities to acknowledge service, celebrate achievement, and strengthen connections across our movement.
Held as a relaxed garden party, the afternoon provided guests with the opportunity to connect with fellow Scouts, share experiences, and celebrate the impact these individuals have both within Scouting and in the wider community. Attendees included volunteers who had been nominated for Volunteer of the Month, as well as members who have received recognition outside of Scouting, highlighting the significant contribution that our members make across their communities.
The event also featured panel-style interviews with selected guests, offering insight into their achievements and experiences. These conversations showcased the impact of our members both within and beyond Scouting and highlighted the strong culture of service and leadership across Scouts SA.
A big thank you to all who attended and contributed to such a positive and welcoming atmosphere. We look forward to recognising many more outstanding people and celebrating their achievements at future Chief Commissioner’s Garden Parties. Keep an eye out for an invitation for a future Garden Party!
Niccola – Youth Commissioner
