  • JDP 1 Theory Evening – Thursday Evening 18th May
  • JDP 1 Practical Day – Sunday 21st May
  • JDP 2 Theory Evening- Date TBC- Thursday evening in August
  • JDP 2 Practical Day- Date TBC- Sunday in August

Costs

  • Motorsport Australia Junior License $35 (payable to Motorsport Australia as an annual license fee)
  • Junior Development Program Entry Fee $125 (Payable to Scout Motorsport Club and includes 2023 club membership)

NO DRIVERS LICENSE? – NO WORRIES!

MINIMUM AGE 14.

Scout Motorsport Club SA invites Scouts and Venturers to participate in our upcoming Motorsport Junior Development Program. This program has been specially designed for youth members aged 14- 18 and is designed as an introduction to motorsport. The program will combine theory and practical workshops to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely and confidently engage in motorsport activities in both driving and event official capacities.

Theory modules in the program will include:

–       Introduction to motorsport- event types, who is Motorsport Australia, what do Scout Motorsport do?

–       Car and personnel safety regulations

–       Racing rules and practices including

–       Attire and safety equipment – helmets, Motorsport Australia approved attire, harnesses

–       Race craft including racing line, racing strategies and car control

–       Car build process and regulations

–       Car scrutineering policies and practices

–       Event official training

Practical component involving direct one on one on track intro to racing including:

–       Basic car control

–       taking off and stopping

–       navigating through a course

–       Changing gears

–       Reversing

–       Emergency stopping

 

The Scout Motorsport team has a fleet of specially prepared racecars for participants to undertake on track instruction with experienced instructors in a non-speed controlled racing environment.

Participants will also have involvement with helping with official roles at the event and be given opportunity to be taken for hot laps in members private competition vehicles.
