Do you want to come along and try the fun and adventure that is Scout Motorsport?

This year Scout Motorsport will be heading out to Mallala Motorsport Park for a series of tarmac come and try practice days. During these events drivers will have access to sections of the tarmac surface that have been specifically setup to test driver precision and car control.

  • Event Costs:
    • Entry Fee $100
    • SMCSA Yearly Membership $25 (Scouting Families) $50 (Associate Membership**)
    • Motorsport Australia License- Junior Speed $35 yearly / Adult Speed $135/ Adult Come and try $25 ***
  • Entry:
  • See Documents and forms for Supplementary Regulations and event entry paperwork.
  • * Invited guest entry subject to approval by Event Secretary
  • ** Associate membership by invitation only and subject to SMCSA Exec approval
  • *** Motorsport Australia allow one come and try license to be uses per year, discount applies if upgrading to speed license within 30 days.

Track setups generally consist of a combination of slower speed motorkhana style tests, slaloms of various lengths and speeds, and faster gymkhana tests.

These events have been setup as the perfect introduction to motorsport with an opportunity for drivers to come out and learn the skills needed to participate in tarmac motorsport events in a non competitive setting. This event also provides an opportunity for more experienced drivers to work on car setup and improve skill and precision as a preparation for other competitive events.

To enter this event drivers will be required to hold a minimum of a Speed or Speed Junior license and general road cars can participate with the simple addition of a complying fire extinguisher. All vehicles attending will be required to pass scrutineering on the day and need to be in safe and roadworthy condition and any purpose built cars must comply with the appropriate Motorsport Australia regulations. If you are wanting to participate but don’t have access to an appropriate vehicle then the Scout Motorsport Club may be able to assist as the club has a fleet of Scout owned vehicles that are specifically setup for motorsport. For more information on hiring a car see the Hire page.

The Motorsport team will also be running a Junior Development Program (JDP) alongside each of these practice days as an introduction to motorsport for youth within Scouting.
