The first step is to contact our Group Leader and find out what would be the best night to come along. Sometimes we are not at the hall, so it is always a good idea to check with us first, to avoid disappointment.
Once you’ve arranged a time to visit, come along and see what Scouting is all about – parents are encouraged to stay and see what happens too. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a Leader – our Group Leader will be happy to talk to you about what is involved.
On your first night, there will be some paperwork to fill in so that we have your details and contacts in case of an emergency. Remember to dress in comfortable clothing (be prepared to be outside), wear closed-in shoes (sneakers are fine), and bring along a water-bottle.
A night at Scouts can vary from week to week depending on what the Unit is working towards – so make sure you come along a few times before making a decision about joining.
When you decide that Scouting is for you, our Leaders will have a chat with you about what happens next. At Flinders Park we like to officially welcome new members with a special ceremony, and this candle-lit experience is always an exciting part of a new Scout’s journey.
