Term 1 2026

January 19, 2026

Welcome back to Scouts for the new year!

This post focuses on the return to Scouts for Term 1 and some important information for all families participating in Scouting this year.

Return to Scouts in 2026

Joeys, Cubs and Scouts will all return week beginning 2 February 2026.
Venturers will return 30 January.

Please keep an eye on your emails / facebook groups for more information from Leaders closer to the time. If you are unsure at all please get in touch!

A number of youth members will be looking at transitioning sections at the start of the term. You should have received an email from the group in relation to this if your child is due to transition.

New Members and Volunteers

We have vacancies across a number of our Units in 2026 – know a family friend, school friend or relative who might enjoy Scouts? Why not invite them to come along and try out! All relevant information available on our Come and Try page

We’re also looking for volunteers. New adult volunteers to take on assistant lead roles, adult helper roles and more – want to volunteer in 2026? Let us know and we can talk about a role for you!

If your child isn’t looking to return in 2026 please let us know so we can arrange to update our records.

Replacing Operoo

A new system will shortly be rolled out that replaces Operoo (which is closing down in Australia). This system will be called Consent2Go and operate in a slightly different way to Operoo – more information soon!

Volunteer for our 2026 Projects

To continue the great work of our Scout Group, we need the support of all families with a number of our key projects across the group. Our group is entirely volunteer run – nothing happens without the support of families and you!

Everyone is busy! But if every family volunteered just a few hours during the year it would help spread the load from just a few people. Two key projects we’re starting recruitment for now are listed below – click the button to find out more about each opportunity.

Working Bees

We have four working bees scheduled this year. All families are expected to attend at least one working bee to help keep our hall and facilities looking great.
