🎉 Celebrating 50 Years of Scouting at Flagstaff Hill
The Flagstaff Hill Scout Group held its very first meeting at Flagstaff Hill Primary School on Monday, 31 October 1977. Led by a dedicated team of inaugural leaders — John Michell (Akela), Di Strutton (Baloo), Jan Darrett (Bagheera), and Alan Reddy (Kaa) — the group began its journey of adventure, learning, and community spirit.
In 2027, we’ll proudly celebrate 50 years of Scouting in our local community — and what an incredible journey it’s been!
Planning is now underway for this milestone event, and we’re excited to reconnect with past members, share memories, and celebrate in true Scout style. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to get involved!

Next year Flagstaff Hill Scout Group turns 50! As part of our celebrations we will be producing a special limited edition badge.Part of the celebrations will include a commemorative badge for all members of our Scout group next year.
We need your help to design this badge
Please think about what Flagstaff Hill Scout Group means to you in a badge – it can be any shape. Designs submitted will be considered and may be adjusted slightly to fit overall themes.
