Our Training

Our Training

Scouts is all about ‘learning by doing’, and Scouting’s members are learning every day. The skills learned help to develop active citizens who contribute to society and help to create a better world. Scouts Australia also facilitates a comprehensive formal training framework for its youth members and adult leaders.

Adult Leader Training

Scouting provides opportunities for our youth members to achieve their goals and become active members of their local, national and international communities.

As an adult leader, you play an integral role in supporting the development of our Scouts as they reach their full potential, whether you are directly supporting our young people or supporting your fellow adults. Find out more

Adventurous Activity Training

Training in an Adventurous Activity discipline provides Youth Members and Adults in Scouting with skills to supervise and lead activities requiring Outdoor Activity qualifications.

The Scouts SA Adventurous Activities teams provide a range of opportunities for training with some training linking into Outdoor Recreation industry recognised qualifications.

First Aid

First Aid is a vital skill for Leaders in Scouting to be qualified in. All activities conducted must do so with a nominated first aid qualified Leader present at all times.

Scouts SA accepts all Provide First Aid certificate qualifications issued by recognised First Aid Course providers. These can be submitted to training@sahq.scouts.com.au for adding to your membership record.

Scouts SA run a number of first aid courses a year, however Groups are also able to organise their own.

You+Lead Personal Development

The You+Lead Personal Development Program is an experience that takes Scouts on a three part journey to understanding leadership and others.

The program is a three-part journey aimed at delivering an outstanding platform for Scouts, Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts to develop themselves through learning about their own self, and then learning about how to lead others.

The program follows World Scoutings Youth Involvement Policy and aims to create more opportunities for our youth members to develop leadership, 21st-century learning and community engagement skills.

Be prepared to connect.

Facebook and Instagram are fantastic ways to promote Scouting. Please enjoy their use by posting photos and stories about the great activities you are doing in Scouts.
