An important part of our Youth Program is participating in events and activities – large events such as Hoporees and Jamborees give young people the opportunity to make lifelong friends and memories. The events, like all of our Programs are Youth lead and adult-supported.
The range of activities we offer in Scouts is only limited by your imagination. As all our Program is Youth led, it’s a choose your own adventure! You can do anything from motorsport, surfing, sailing, cycling to abseiling. But it’s not all adventurous activities. We also offer activities such as performing arts, radio activities, robotics, cooking and electronics. The activities are set by the Youth based on their interests and the goals they set for their achievements.
It is not always about physical challenge – it’s about challenging yourself to go outside your comfort zone and learn something about yourself while gaining a new skill.
When young people overcome challenges they build in confidence, self-esteem and resilience, when they do these activities with others, it builds lifelong friendships.
Of course, all of these activities are conducted in a safe, supervised manner in accordance with our Policies and rules. All activity leaders have the relevant training and experience. We believe in responsible risk taking. For more information please see Our Policies.
