The Family Camp is a chance for the whole group to come together for a relaxed but fun weekend camping as families in your own tents (or borrowed tents), participating in activities and meeting others from our group.

In 2024 our Family Camp will be held on May 25 to 27 at Roonka Adventure Park near Blanchetown, on the River Murrray. This was a request from youth members in our Scout Group. We will have sole occupancy of the facilities for the weekend.

Due to the distance, this year families can choose to stay both Friday and Saturday nights or Saturday night only.

Tents, campervans or limited bunkhouse accommodation required. Tents can be borrowed from the Scout Group. For this specific activity due to the large number of kids around no dogs will be allowed.

Scouts will be catering for this camp as a practice for the Jamboree! Catering will be supplied from Saturday breakfast to Sunday lunch.

Youth members must attend with a Parent – some Leaders will be present on the weekend but parents are in charge of their youth. Whole families are welcome, including siblings. Leaders and Group Support Committee will be around to help facilitate activities and catering.

Costs (includes site fees, catering and activities)

Full weekend (individual) – $40

Full weekend family of 4 – $120

Saturday night only (individual) – $25

Saturday night only (family of 4) – $100

Additional family members (more than 4) – $20 per person

Full weekend with bunkhouse room (most sleep 6) – limited availability – $170
