The office of the Governor of South Australia has had a long history with Scouts SA, with previous Governors having accepted the role of Chief Scout.
Scouts Australia – SA Branch is delighted to announce our new Chief Scout, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, was invested as Chief Scout of Scouts South Australia at a ceremony held at Government House on April 8, 2022.
The Investiture ceremony conducted by Chief Commissioner Jan Turbill was attended by Rebecca Wilson CEO, President Paul Dickson APM, The Honourable Katrine Hildyard MP, and included representatives of our Chief’s Council. Our youth Sections were represented by a Joey Scout Alex P and Rover Scout Thomas M who attended to the flag and presentation of the Scarf and Certificate.
The Chief Scout is a distinguished position in Scouts South Australia. It provides leadership to our Movement and is a source of inspiration to our volunteer Leaders, Supporters and Youth Members alike.
Having Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia accept this position of Chief Scout, is a privilege. The lifetime of achievements and wealth of knowledge that she brings to the position is inspiring, and will encourage the members of Scouts SA to seek to build a better world and play a constructive role in society.
