Scouts SA are currently seeking information regarding our Volunteer, staff and members vaccination status to assist with identifying how we align with the policies of school and other community Groups.

We have compiled a list of FAQ to answer any question you may have around this.

What is COVID-19?

This new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 originated in Hubei Province, China and the disease caused by the virus is named COVID-19.

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness with symptoms that can range from the common cold to more serious diseases such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

How is COVID-19 spread?

COVID-19 is spread in three main ways:

  • Breathing in air when close to an infected person who is exhaling small droplets and particles that contain the virus.
  • Having these small droplets and particles that contain virus land on the eyes, nose, or mouth, especially through splashes and sprays like a cough or sneeze.
  • Touching eyes, nose, or mouth with hands that have the virus on them.

How is the spread of COVID-19 reduced?

The key measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 are:

  • Good hygiene
  • Vaccination
  • Physical distancing
  • Testing
  • Wearing face masks
  • Use COVID Safe Check-In at businesses, events, and venues
  • Quarantine/Isolation

Why should I provide Scouts SA with information about my COVID-19 vaccination status? What will it be used for?

Your vaccination status identify how we align with the policies of School and other community groups

What if I don’t want to provide Scouts SA with my COVID-19 vaccination status?

As this survey is not compulsory, you may choose not to provide Scouts SA with information about your COVID-19 vaccination status. Where no information is provided, or you do not consent to providing Scouts SA with this information (as answered in the COVID-19 survey), it cannot be assumed that you have been fully vaccinated.

How will my information be stored? Who will have access?

Information regarding the vaccination status of employees will be treated confidentially and will be stored on a secure system. Only employees that require this information as a part of undertaking their duties will have access to the answers you have provided.
